I am passionate about Jesus.

In the summer of 1981 I was adrift. I had just completed my undergraduate program at the University of California, Riverside campus. I was at a stage in my life where I was looking for a “centre” A place, a perspective or a person upon which I could anchor my life. I had recently returned to Vancouver from undergraduate California. I was enrolled in the MBA program at UBC. I started to attend Granville Chapel in Vancouver. Every summer, Granville Chapel, took a group of teens to Anvil Island for a camp. I was invited to go along as a volunteer dish washer. At camp I heard an evangelist named Terry Winter talk about Jesus and the difference He would make in people’s life. He challenged his listeners to read one chapter of the Bible a day for the of their spiritual health.  I took up that challenge. After reading the New Testament gospels, I felt I had found in Jesus Christ, the “centre” I had been looking for. So, one evening, in the quiet of my bedroom, I prayed and asked him to become the one who would lead me into my future.

It has been 23 years since that day and He has not disappointed me in any way. He has given me a reason to live and a purpose to fulfill.

My prayer this past year has been that I would get to know Him a lot better than I have known Him.  The encounters I have had with Him and the fresh insights I have had into who He is will be the subject of a number of posts.

I am passionate about my family.

I have a great wife and three wonderful children.  They are all doing very well despite the dire warnings we hear about teenage years. I want to see each member of my family be all that God would have them be.  So I am dedicated to giving them every encouragement.

I am passionate about my work.

I have different work responsibilities. I wear a hat as a business manager at my wife’s medical clinic. I volunteer with YWAM British Columbia where I do a ministry called marketplace mission.

My passion for my work is that I would embody the gospel in what I do such that others would hear AND see that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. This is what you will hear a lot from me in this blog.
