So I think both the message and the messenger lack integrity if they disengage from the culture (including politics), retreat within their cultural Christian ghetto, hurl stones at those outside and wait for the rapture. This is why the church in
For far too long the prophetic voice of church has been silenced. Now is the time for us to engage the Powers with the gospel. To do that we need to embody the gospel in action and get involved with cultural engagement. If that means Christians standing for election on a platform that advocates strengthening the moral values of our society that is a good thing! So I thank God for the Christian leaders (like James Dobson) and Christian events like Justice Sunday (sponsored by the Family Research Council) that I see doing something about what is happening in your culture. I just wish there were more like them in my country.
