Richard Mouw on our Calling to Holy Worldliness

I am attending the 14th Annual International Consultation on Ministry in Daily Life sponsored by the Coalition for Ministry in Daily Life. Richard Mouw, President of Fuller Theological Seminary, opened the Consultation with a lively presentation on faith in daily life.

Overcoming Office Politics by Following the Pathway of the Cross

In my previous post I talked about a Christian response to bullying in the workplace. I recommended that the person being bullied make a diary and appeal to higher authorities if the bullying does not stop. In this post, I caution Christians against the temptation to play office politics to get the upper hand even though they may feel justified because they are being treated unfairly.

Andrew Coyne, columnist for Canada’s National Post newspaper has written an insightful analysis (Harper's mission statement) of the Prime Minister's recent speech to Canadian troops in Afghanistan. His comment applies equally to Christians at work.

My good friend, pastor and ministry mentor Gord Whyte was speaking at New Life Church Kelowna last Sunday morning. His subject was the apostle John’s warning against antichrists – those influences that would lead Christians astray from 1 John 2:18-27. I agree with most of his message but I take issue with a dualism that depreciates everyday work.
