Last Monday, I wrote a blog post critiquing a portion of our Sunday morning message. I posted this article before I had given the speaker the opportunity to respond. This was inappropriate for me to do. I have since met with Gord Whyte and he pointed out to me that the view I was critiquing was not his view.

It is important to give the gift of the question before coming to a conclusion. I should have presented my thinking to Gord in the form of a question instead of rushing to post it on my blog. This would have given him the opportunity to set the record straight.

I apologized to Gord for not giving him that opportunity.

I have also corrected my previous blog post to distinguish more clearly Gord’s view from the views I am critiquing.
