Re: Re: Why do I stay at New Life Church? Making the Hard Decision to Care Covenantally for My Church Family.
by Midnight Intercessor
You spoke of finding your tribe in 1988.. I recall finding my family in 99 when I first came thru the doors.. There was peace here that I so longed for, and for the most part still exists. I know we have been through many times of turmoil , yet it is thru turmoil a family is moulded I was glad to read your article and evan more happy to know that you were staying, I am always surprised at how little it takes to rock the boat in our tribe or family or the many tribes not just the tribe at New Life. The family I grew in was very violent and rocky so the things we go through are not so challenging that we could no come to gether and be stronger for the experience. I am not saying they are not a challenge, yet it is thru the challenges that we grow I was in reflection on Paul's Epistle to the Church at Ephesus, especially chapter 4 when he shares about growth. He shares about growing from infants to maturity... not being knock about by the winds of change as we grow. These things will strengthen us as we stand to gether as family (tribe) I was lost for so long and when I came home to the father ( Jesus) I left as young boy, I thought things would be different.. yet it was not, maybe a little more hidden... However there were some like you Mike who stands with the family and says that I am willing to fight for my family.. I will not succumb to the winds that come up now and then I am glad that there are those that know that we are a family, a tribe ... Paul summed Chapter 4 of this Epistle to the Ephesians with this 32Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you
